SCOTT BLOSSOM – L.Ac., Dipl.Ac., Dipl.C.H.
Scott is a licensed practitioner of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), an Ayurvedic consultant, and a Shadow Yoga teacher. He has been fortunate to have excellent teachers in the areas of TCM, Ayurveda, and Yoga and weaves these modalities together in his clinical practice and yoga teaching. He is on the faculty of the Kripalu School of Ayurveda and regularly contributes to magazines and conferences on these subjects. Scott is particularly grateful to Zhander Remete, founder of Shadow Yoga, with whom he has studied for 14 years, and Dr. Robert Svoboda, renowned Ayurvedic doctor and scholar, with whom he has studied for 15 years. Scott graduated with a master's degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine in 1997 from the Santa Barbara College of Oriental Medicine. During this time, he also completed a three-year extracurricular training in Chinese Herbology under Master herbalist Dr. Henry Han. Scott specializes in women's health specifically, as well as the musculoskeletal, immune, and digestive systems. His 14 years of clinical experience have laid a foundation for the therapies and practices that he shares on DoctorBlossom.com.
ANDREW THOMAS – C.A.S.
Andrew is a certified Clinical Ayurvedic Specialist through the California College of Ayurveda and a Yoga teacher. His studies of Ayurveda and Yoga began more than a decade ago and he has spent the past two years studying Shadow Yoga and Ayurveda with Scott Blossom. In his clinical practice and teaching, Andrew utilizes the holistic principles of Ayurveda and Yoga to create individualized treatment programs for his patients and students. He specializes in treatment of pathologies in the digestive, nervous and immune systems.
KATE LUMSDEN – C.A.P.
Kate is a Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner from Mount Madonna Institute and a Yoga Teacher. She was introduced to Yoga in her mid-teens as therapy for the scoliosis in her spine and Ayurveda 3 years later to treat her psoriasis, a common chronic skin condition. With committed application of Yoga and Ayurveda, Kate was able heal her imbalances and discover improved self-confidence, calm, stronger digestion, and ultimately, a life path. While she has studied many styles of yoga, Kate now practices Shadow Yoga with Scott Blossom and feels passionate about bringing the mindfulness and discipline of Yoga off the mat and into one’s life. She sees Ayurveda, especially its approach to diet & lifestyle, as a natural extension of Yoga practice. Kate Lumsden specializes in helping her clients create positive relationships with food, discover the joys of Ayurvedic cooking & cleansing, and calm anxiety & stress.
REXANNE DIEHL – Ayurvedic & Siddha Vaidya Practitioner
Rexanne Diehl has worked in the holistic healthcare arena for over 15 years. From her multifaceted work for the renowned Kiehl’s in Manhattan, to her Ayurvedic training and intensive study of Siddha Vaidya and Kaya Regeneration Therapy, Rexanne draws from a wealth of knowledge and experience in both Western and Eastern healing traditions. She offers clients a uniquely integrated healthcare approach perfectly suited to today’s high-stress culture. Western herbal formulation, aromatherapy, Ayurveda, yoga and Siddha Vaidya. All of these and more inform Rexanne’s sessions with clients. At the center is Rexanne’s belief that we each have amazing powers to heal and rejuvenate ourselves, given the right stimulus. That sometimes simple things can have profound effects. That ancient traditions from around the world offer truths that transcend time and place.
For months in India, Rexanne trained intensively with 9th-generation Siddha Vaidya physician Reghu Harichandrin. From Dr. Harichandrin, Rexanne learned the making of traditional medicines, Siddha Vaidya body therapies, and disease and herbal protocol. She was able to observe, perform and assist in offering specific treatments for various diseases under the tutelage of Dr. Harichandrin and Dr. Rajkurmar Reghunathan.
Rexanne’s training in India forms the core of her work with clients, which is enhanced by the Ayurvedic training she has received from such lauded teachers as Dr. Sarita Shrestha, Dr. Vasant Lad and Dr. Robert Svoboda, in addition to her completion of a 600-hour Ayurvedic certificate course. Her knowledge of Western methodologies also comes into play for an integrated approach to wellness.
Using the five-element theory as a lens for understanding a body’s ailments and drawing on the wisdom of plants and the strong lineage of her teachers, Rexanne works with clients on a variety of levels.
