The Community I Wish I’d Been Able to Give My Mom

Back in 2010, when my mother began showing signs of cognitive decline, I felt what so many families and caregivers feel: confusion, urgency, and a sinking realization that conventional medicine had very few answers.

I remember thinking…why didn’t anyone teach us how to protect the brain before the diagnosis?

After my mother passed away, I began closely studying Dr. Dale Bredesen’s work on reversing decline using an approach that is completely unique to modern medicine, yet not at all unique to the traditional medicine systems of Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine I had dedicated 20+ years of my life’s work and clinical practice to.

His research showed that:

  • 84% had cognitive improvements with a multifactorial approach

  • Cognitive decline is not caused by one thing, but by as many as 36 contributors, including:

    • Stress

    • Toxins

    • Blood Sugar Imbalance

    • Chronic Inflammation

    • Nutrient Deficiencies

    • Sleep deprivation

  • And most importantly…that prevention is possible

One of the biggest challenges with prevention is:
staying consistent.

Behavioral research shows:

  • Only ~20% of people maintain new health behaviors after 6 months without structured accountability.

  • Habit formation requires repetition in a consistent environment.

  • Social accountability significantly increases long-term follow-through.

The Thriving Mind Community System works
because it combines a multifactorial approach based on Dr. Bredesen’s Reach + Integrative Ayurveda
with a powerful 3-pronged system for behavioral change.

Cognitive decline is never caused by one thing. And it’s never reversed by one thing, either.

The Thriving Mind System strengthens eight interconnected roots of cognitive vitality — through a layered ecosystem of self-led practice, expert-led teaching, and peer-led accountability.

Pricing

You have access to financial security, own property, or have personal savings; if you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life; if you have economic privilege and power in our community, this price is for you.

By choosing this price, you are “paying it forward” and contributing to a more equitable world by supporting membership access for those with less.

You may be paying off debt or working to build savings, but you also have access to steady income. You do NOT struggle to meet basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc.

Making this investment might mean you might have to cut back on some discretionary spending in your life (such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, buying a new outfit, or going on vacation), but the sacrifice is short-term, and will not harm you in the long term.

You have access to basic needs such as food, housing, and childcare, though sometimes it may feel difficult. You are able to save each week to be able to pay for the membership.

What TM Members Are Saying

  • "My vocabulary seems to be more available, more rested. My body feels less bloated and achy."

    — Thriving Mind Member

  • "It is so affordable! If you have the funds, there is no reason not to do it. If it was not as accessible as it is, I would not be doing it. Thank you! I'd tell a friend that there is a benefit from being apart of a community over time. And that there is nothing more valuable than supporting our mind in thriving, as this is the a fundamental foundation for being able to enjoy and experience all that this life has to offer."

    — Thriving Mind Member

  • "I feel more confidence, and a sense of sharpness, via engaging in these conversations, because it is what I am actually deeply compelling and fun!"

    — Thriving Mind Member

We believe your brain can thrive—at any age. That’s what Thriving Mind is here for.

Here’s how we stand by it: show up for three months by subscribing to the quarterly membership - set your goals, share your progress each week inside the community - and if you don’t feel more supported, more motivated, and more brain-healthy, we’ll refund you.

Why three full months matters: Because real brain change isn’t instant. Neuroscience tells us it takes repetition. Āyurveda teaches us it takes rhythm. And Thriving Mind was built to give you both.

We’ll bring the science, the tools, and the community. You bring your willingness to show up and take action.

If it doesn’t make a difference, you’ll get every penny back.

— Scott

  • Through this 24-week program and the teachings of Yoga and Āyurveda, you’ll learn to cultivate sattva—clarity, calm, and balance—that not only supports emotional resilience but also protects your brain. Research shows practices that increase sattva can lower stress, improve mood, and strengthen cognitive function.

In this program, we’ll explore Āyurvedic practices, diet, and lifestyle tools that build ojas so you feel more grounded, emotionally steady, and mentally clear. Strong ojas protects your nervous system, supports memory, and gives your brain the energy it needs to thrive.

  • This course helps you heal your mycobiome, the fungal side of gut health, through diet, lifestyle, and Āyurvedic insights. You’ll learn to rebalance yeast and beneficial fungal communities, which supports digestion, clears brain-fog, stabilizes mood, and protects long-term cognitive resilience.

  • On the Doctor Blossom Courses

“I came away from the program with a greater appreciation of the role of ritual not just in a wellness-hacking way, but actually communing with spirit. I'm a very studious person, and I'm at a stage in my life where I'm actively separating from that identity and leaning more into experience and heart-forward practices, and this course was a container for me to feel into that space and discover the joys of not just listening to desire and instinct but actually acting upon them. I wasn't totally aware of it at the time, but I was able to navigate difficult life circumstances with more ease because of the foundations of this course.” - Anonymous

  • On Scott as a Teacher and Practitioner

“Scott is a genius at bringing out the deeper aspects of the most basic teachings. He also has a magical way of inviting folks into the practices without being preachy or like, “this is the one way.” But he also steers clear of being “wishy washy.”  This is no small feat. His solid grasp and practice of yoga, ayurveda and chinese medicine, weaves seamlessly into his teachings.

Studying with Scott has supported my growth as a practitioner, firstly, and inspired and enhanced my unique voice as a teacher. Gratitude for the path, the teachings and the practicing community!” - Shannon Mccall

  • On the Yoga Classes

The way in which Scott weaves everything together with energetics and Ayurveda is unparalleled. I also love the way he teaches like building blocks. Learn a little bit each week until you build the whole sequence, then continue to refine it and deepen your understanding and knowledge of it through the second half of the series. That requires a certain level of attention and dedication that I rarely experience. And for my airy, fiery spirit, I think that’s a good thing. I had a knee injury through at least half of the series, which brought up trepidation and slows me down. But I’m at the point in my life where I don’t care so much about trying to keep up, making an impression, or perfection. And Scott is obviously very welcoming and helpful.” -Amy Cranch

  • On the Community

"If you want to participate in a loving community of brilliant people join one of Scott's groups. If you want to be challenged and supported along the way JOIN ONE OF SCOTT'S GROUPS!" - Deborah Howe

  • On the Yoga Classes

"I needed a boost in my home practice and love Scott's online courses. I had been having a hard time getting up early to practice lately and this really helped me get back on track. Even though I've been practicing yoga a long time, I sometimes let breathwork go. Scott addresses the foundations so well and so many teachers are clueless about this. Slow, deep, intelligent, wise, methodical, AMAZING! It's been so helpful to slow down and be in my body. I loved every minute. THANK YOU!" - Teri Gelber

  • On the Curriculum

“This course has incredible depth, yet is designed to be easily understandable and accessible. Scott is a creative, gifted and generous teacher who integrates his immense knowledge and skill in way that teaches to all aspects of the human experience. The classes built on each other and Scott's pacing gives time for students to embody his teachings.” - Simone Noble

A note from Scott Blossom

A Note from Scott

If you’ve followed my work for years, if you’ve ever taken one of my yoga series, if you’ve found clarity and strength through integrative Āyurveda, Chinese medicine, or any of the tools that I teach, you already know how great you can feel with consistent practice and opportunities to deepen your studies.

You also likely share the belief that community medicine is the future, and it’s one way to reimagine and create a new, thriving medical system.

That’s exactly why I created Thriving Mind – a community-based integrative library and resources center dedicated to optimizing your brain health.

Thriving Mind is about weaving science-backed, yet traditional principles into your life in a way that feels natural, sustainable, and empowering. It’s a place where we practice the small, daily habits that have been proven to prevent cognitive decline.

If you were interested in our signature program: Foundations of Cognitive Health, but it felt like a little too much too soon, you’re probably in the right place.

Thriving Mind Community

For self-starters who want to optimize their brain health with the support of movement, the study of integrative Āyurveda & TCM, and foundational resources.

Foundations of Cognitive Health

For those looking for an intensive, personalized 6-month roadmap to implement Dr. Bredesen’s PreCODE Protocol.

By the way . . . a single yoga series with me costs more than joining Thriving Mind for three months. And with this, you don’t just get access to a few classes, you get a whole library of resources, ongoing live sessions, and a community that’s walking this path with you.

I’d love to have you join us.

Don’t let fear write your story. Step into your next chapter supported, resourced, and grounded.

  • Not at all. Thriving Mind is for anyone interested in optimizing cognitive health, increasing longevity, and preventing disease. It’s about strengthening the brain-body connection, whether you have a family history of cognitive decline or just want to be sharper and healthier for decades to come.

  • Thriving Mind is our attempt to make the Doctor Blossom offerings accessible. We will still offer opportunities for folks to take one-off yoga series. However, a single yoga series with Scott costs more than a quarter in Thriving Mind. And here, you get so much more than yoga. You’ll have access to an entire library of recorded teachings, expert-led sessions, and a structured approach to applying brain health principles in a way that fits into your life. And, soon, the Doctor Blossom courses will no longer be offered as standalone programs.

  • We have tiered, class-equitable, pay-what-supports-you pricing.

We believe that pricing doesn't have to be a weapon of classism: it can and should be a joyful act of service that creates stronger communities. Our model is inspired by the Green Bottle Model from Worts + Cunning.

We also want to help to create a conscious, intentional and value-aligned culture of payment.

Please read the following criteria and determine which price is appropriate for you:

    • Highest price: You have access to financial security, own property, or have personal savings; if you are able to pay for "wants" and spend little time worrying about securing necessities in your life; if you have economic privilege and power in our community, this price is for you. By choosing this price, you are “paying it forward” and contributing to a more equitable world by supporting course access for those with less.

    • Middle price: You may be paying off debt or working to build savings, but you also have access to steady income. You do NOT spend most of your time thinking about meeting basic needs such as food, shelter, medical care, child care, etc. Making this investment might mean you might have to cut back on some discretionary spending in your life (such as going out to dinner, buying coffee, buying a new outfit, or going on vacation), but the sacrifice is short-term, and will not harm you in the long term.

    • Lowest price: You have access to basic needs such as food, housing, and childcare, though sometimes it may feel difficult. You are able to put away money each month to save up to be able to pay for the program, but the middle tier price would mean that you have to save for longer than 12 months.

To apply for a scholarship, please send a paragraph about your financial need & your motivation to participate to info@doctorblossom.com

  • We believe your brain can thrive, and that Thriving Mind gives you the tools to make it happen.

If you commit to a quarterly membership, fully engage for three months, and still don’t feel supported, we’ll refund your subscription in full.

Here’s what “full engagement” looks like:

    • Post your goals and/or progress within the community each week for a minimum of three months.

Why three months? Because this is neuroscience in action. Writing down your goals, reflecting, and sharing with others helps rewire your brain and make change stick.

TCM, Āyurveda, Yoga, and RECODE Practitioner

Scott’s personal journey into brain health started when he lost his mother to Alzheimer’s in 2020. This deeply personal experience led him to explore the scientific causes of cognitive decline and holistic ways to prevent and reverse its effects.

Scott has integrated Traditional Chinese (TCM), Āyurveda, Yoga somatics, and evidence-based nutrition into his clinical practice and educational offerings for more than 25 years. Experience has taught him that the one secret to health is not a what, not a product or a specific practice, but how to adapt whatever you are doing so it remains potent and agile through the days and seasons of your life.

With nearly three decades of experience in holistic health, Scott has guided thousands of clients toward better well-being by blending the wisdom of Āyurveda, Traditional Chinese Medicine, and yoga with modern neuroscience.

Now, he’s channeling his expertise into a sharper focus on cognitive health—empowering those who are vulnerable to the impacts of cognitive decline to protect and improve their brain function with a personalized, whole-body approach.
